Lightsabers have been one of the most integral features of the "Star Wars" franchise more than any other weapons shown since the release of the original film. As part of the storyline continuity, the passing of lightsaber has been a major part of "Star Wars" tradition. Recently leaked scenes reveal how Luke Skywalker gives Rey (Daisy Ridley) a lesson on lightsaber in the upcoming "Star Wars Episode 8."

In the highly anticipated Episode 8 of the iconic sci-fi franchise, latest plot details purportedly reveal Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) giving Rey a lightsaber crash course. Moreover, the last Jedi Knight will reportedly do it using the Force.

As reported by the Metro, a new Star Wars material is making rounds online. The latest leak purportedly explains a lightsaber scene between Luke and Rey. Luke reportedly gives his young pupil how important lightsabers are. To further illustrate the scene, a video explainer shows Rey using the Force to grab Rey's own weapon and having two lightsabers (including his own) floating in mid-air.

"Luke closes his eyes and dismantles both lightsabers, all metal and components removed into pieces, all the building blocks of both lightsabers are separated into tiny bits and pieces, leaving only two crystals, one in each hand (green over left and blue over right hand) and informs her about the importance of the Crystals," reveals the unnamed insider as quoted by Melty.

The video features Luke dismantling the floating lightsabers to expose the crystals hidden within them. The scene somehow suggests how Jedi knights are able to create their signature weapons by infusing the crystals with the power of the Force. The lightsaber 101 crash course will allow Rey to create her own weapon.

So what do the crystals have to do with lightsabers?

For those who wonder how a Jedi's signature weapon is made, the Star Wars animated series (Star Wars: Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels) gives a hefty explanation about Kyber crystals- the crystals that give the lightsabers their power. As for all those pretty colors, a lightsaber changes color according to the Jedi Knight's abilities and, in turn, its unique glow.

To become a full-fledged Knight of the Jedi Order, one has to master the skill to craft his or her own lightsaber using the crystal. Back in the Return of the Jedi episode, Luke was forced to make a new one when he lost his father's weapon. That's exactly what Luke will pass on to Rey in Episode 8 of the long-running and hugely successful movie franchise.
