Katie Couric and ABC have decided to end her daily talk show in June 2014 after two seasons.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, ending the show's run was a mutual decision, even though the show made it to television syndication.

"We're very proud of everyone's contributions to making Katie the No. 1 new syndicated talk show of 2012-13...and we look forward to the rest of the season," Couric and ABC said in a statement.

However, sources told The New York Daily News the was a lot of tension behind the scenes.

"Show insiders have also depicted a tug-of-war between Couric and producers: She had hoped to turn the show into a more news-driven production, while they have pushed to make the talk show more lighter and more gossip-focused," the Daily News reports.

Another alleged issue with "Katie" was the budget for the show, which was being cut drastically cut after underwhelming viewer ratings. According to THR, Couric's show was one of the most expensive, and the show's 2 million viewers didn't justify the budget.

"'Katie' cost an eye-popping $50 million to produce when it launched in 2012, and while the budget fell to $35 million for season two, it still costs more to make than an average $20 million talk show," the Daily News reports.

The budget didn't include Couric's salary, which was reportedly a hefty $10 million for a 2-year deal, according to THR.

Couric may be going off television, but the famous media personality has another job lined up. She has signed a $6 million a year deal with Yahoo! to become their online global anchor.

"Disney negotiated an early end to that contract last month, which freed Couric to sign with Yahoo!," THR reports. "The end of 'Katie' opens up time slots at 3 and 4 p.m. on ABC-owned stations and others in key markets."
