The next-generation phablet device from Samsung's Galaxy Note lineup is generating quite a lot of anticipation following the earlier success of Galaxy S7 earlier this year. Now, recent leaked snaps about the South Korean tech giant's Galaxy Note 6 reveal a purported curved edge screen plus other interesting features that will make it significantly different from previous Note handsets.

Latest roundup from IT Pro suggest that the forthcoming Galaxy Note handset model will sport a curved edge screen based on a teaser image that is currently doing rounds online. This confirms earlier speculations regarding its purported external design.

An anonymous leakster reportedly tipped Phone Arena with what appears to be a marketing teaser with a slogan that says "write on the edge of something great." The shadowy outline of the device also reveals a shape that is strikingly similar to an S-Pen Stylus.

The recent leak from the unnamed insider source supports previous reports about Samsung's current effort to give its Note series more powerful boost as it competes with Apple in the high-end smartphone market.

Apart from the curved edge screen rumors, other speculations that are getting Samsung fans excited is the purported decision by consumer electronics titan to bypass the whole sixth-generation class and rebrand the phablet as Note 7 instead of Note 6.

Some industry observers who are following countless updates think that the latest teaser image from Sam Mobile supports what many have long suspected. The device's outline appears to form a number seven. While this speculation is debatable, the other practical reason for a possible rebranding of Note 6 to Note 7 is to make it at par with Galaxy S handset generations and avoid confusion.

As for the phablet's rumored specs and features, a rundown as per Tech Times update suggests that Samsung Galaxy Note 6 or 7 will have a 5.8-inch QHD curved edge screen. Like iPhone 7's rumored update, the device will have no headphone jacks. For its security feature, an eyeball scanner is added. Like other high-end smartphones to date, Note 6/7 will reportedly shift to a USB Type-C port. Under the hood is either a Snapdragon 823 SoC or an Exynos chipset. Its 4,000 mAh battery will the give the phone extra hours. A BlackBerry Hub-like Samsung Focus app may also appear when the device gets rolled out along with an IP68-certified water-resistant package.
