Developer Naughty Dog had a huge year in 2013, as that was the year that the instant hit "The Last of Us" was released. It seemed to do everything right, ranging from the original story campaign to its multiplayer, and many reviewers agreed, giving the game a perfect or near perfect score.

Naturally, the creation of such a game led to expectations of a second one eventually being released. Whether or not a sequel would actually come was unclear until September of last year, when Naughty Dog's Josh Scherr accidentally "confirmed" during a livestream for "Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection" that the "Last of Us 2" would indeed be coming. There was just one caveat, as revealed in a previous Reddit AMA with game creator Neil Druckmann, which was that production wouldn't begin in earnest until "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" was finished.

This alleged confirmation was a bit of a mixed bag. Fans knew that "The Last of Us 2's" production would resume when "Uncharted 4" was finished. However, no one had any idea when it would be finished, as the game had already been delayed at that point.

Well, that promised day came on May 10, 2016, when "Uncharted 4" hit stores, meaning that fans could assume that Naughty Dog is seriously developing "The Last of Us 2" now.

Naughty Dog, seemingly aware of the excitement, took advantage of the situation by including a teaser for "The Last of Us 2" in "Uncharted 4." At one point in the game, players can find a poster that reads "The Last of Us American Daughters." Looking closely, you can see that the girl feature in the image appears pregnant. Is this person related to Ellie from the first game, or is it Ellie herself? If it's the latter, then could the child be immune to the virus like she is?

Before you get ahead of yourself, take note of the "Dark Horse Comics" logo in the bottom right. Dark Horse Comics and Naughty Dog have a partnership with one another, with the former often publishing a collection of artwork created by the latter.

Of course, teasers like this are hardly new for Naughty Dog. The developer is known for leaving teasers and easter eggs in their games. In fact, "Uncharted 4" inadvertently led people to believe that Naughty Dog somehow gained the rights to "Crash Bandicoot" after players found that they could play a level from the game early on in the story. The hubub prompted Sony to release a statement saying that "Crash Bandicoot" was still owned by Activision and not back in the hands of Naughty Dog and Sony like everyone had hoped.

With all that in mind, it is unclear what this "The Last of Us" poster is supposed to represent. It could be a game, but it's hard to ignore the Dark Horse Comics logo beneath it. However, there is also a strong chance of it being nothing at all. In any case, one thing is clear- Naughty Dog is definitely a master at getting a rise out of its fans.
