In the wake of the finale to AMC's hit drama "Breaking Bad" a spinoff series was almost immediately green lit featuring the past misadventures and raw deals with the show's smarmy lawyer character Saul Goodman, played by Bob Odenkirk.

With a "Breaking Bad" spinoff in obvious high demand, Netflix has made a landmark deal Sony Pictures for exclusive streaming rights to the show, which is currently titled "Better Call Saul."

The U.S. and Canadian streaming member swill be able to watch the complete first season of the show on Netflix immediately after its broadcast finale on AMC. Europe and Latin America users will be able to check out each new episode shortly after they've aired on AMC. The deal makes the service the exclusive subscription television service in all territories for the spinoff of the hit drama.

Better Call Saul will be co-created and executive produced by the Breaking bad creator Vince Gilligan and will see Bob Odenkirk reprising his role as "everyone's favorite crooked lawyer" as IGN puts it.

"This spin-off promises to continue its tradition of powerful storytelling," said Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos in a statement. "We are proud to be in business with Sony Pictures Television to bring Saul Goodman to our subscribers around the world."

Unlike its predecessor, "Better Call Saul" will have a different storytelling method. Rather than tell the full story throughout the course of the season, Saul will likely be more of an episodic comedy/drama following the cases that the lawyer underwent before becoming the main right hand of Walter White as he began his meth cooking empire years later.
