Two winning tickets for the Mega Millions jackpot of $636 million were sold in San Jose, Calif. and Atlanta, Ga.

The winning numbers are 8, 14, 17, 20, 39 and a Mega ball of 7. The winners could receive $318 million if they choose to not go for cash payout, which would give the winners $170 million.

"It was a great run," Paula Otto, Virginia Lottery executive director and director for multistate Mega Millions game, said in a statement.  "We have two jackpot winners, but the important programs supported by the 45 Mega Millions lotteries are the real winners. During this 22-drawing run, the lotteries generated more than $300 million in profits for those programs."

According to the Los Angeles Times, one of the winning tickets was sold at Jenny's Gift Shop in San Jose, Calif.  The store will receive a $1 million retailer bonus for selling the ticket.

"I feel good! I feel good! Come to my store!" owner Thuy Nguyen told NBC Bay Area. "I don't even know. I cannot sleep tonight!"

NBC Bay Area also reports there are more lucky winners from Tuesday night's Mega Millions drawing.

"Two other tickets sold in California matched five numbers, missing only the Mega number, officials said. Both of the tickets were purchased in San Diego County. One ticket was sold at Fuller Liquor and Deli, the other was sold at Square Bottle Liquor in Chula Vista. Lottery officials said the winners will split more than $5 million," according to NBC Bay Area.

The odds of winning the lottery have lowered over the years, since Mega Millions changed their rules.

"People don't really understand probabilities at all," George Loewenstein, a professor of economics and psychology at Carnegie Mellon University, explained to the Associated Press. "Once you have a bunch of zeroes, it doesn't matter how many you have - 1 in 10,000, 1 in a million or 1 in a billion. ... People do understand the meaning of the word 'largest.' They overact to one dimension and underreact to the other."
