The riverbank is great place for brawls: the ground cushions the impact when you fall and it soaks up any blood that may have been spilled during the encounter. However, that didn't likely cross the minds of three women who were arrested for the March 15 beating of a woman by South Carolina's Saluda River.

The three women, Arlinda Craft, 18; Anns Leigh Hill, 19; and Megan Williams, 20, were all charged with second degree assault and battery by a mob, according to police who note that additional charges are being evaluated.

The incident took place on March 15, and the victim, who gave a local newspaper a video of the incident, says that all three perpetrators of the act were bullies from her high school. There had reportedly been a fight when they were in the 10th grade that resulted in them leaving her alone for quite some time, but it looks like they were ready for a second round.

Before the fight, the victim said that she had been confronted by Williams, who accused her of talking smack behind her back.

"Megan said, 'Why you been talking (bad) about me?' I hadn't seen her in months," the victim said.

This is when the fight ensued. One woman came from behind and pulled the victim up by her hair before throwing her to the ground with the help of two other suspects. Afterwards, the three women proceeded to beat the victim as she lay helpless on the ground, eventually suffering a concussion and a broken nose as a result.

When the fight concluded, one of the aggressors can be heared saying "Have a good f------ time at the river," before walking away.

The victim then passed out and was taken to a hospital be treated for her injuries.

The beating was upsetting enough, but what really upset the victim was that no one except for one woman in the crowd tried to do anything to help. Even then it was stymied by a man who can be heard in the video warning someone else that'd he knock them out if he or she interfered.

"No one defended me, out of the 30 people that were hanging around - which is really pathetic in my eyes," she said.

In the meantime, the three that were charged has since paid their bond and are back out on the streets.
