The Washington Redskins have been looking to add a new wide receiving threat to this offense for quite some time now. They will get the opportunity to give Kirk Cousins a new target when Anquan Boldin pays a visit to the franchise. Boldin is a bit older than most receivers and would become the oldest receiver on the Redskins.

Boldin is 35 years old and would be at least 10 years older than one of the youngest Redskins wide receivers in Ryan Grant, so the amount of experience that he would bring to this group of wide receivers cannot be quantified. Boldin has spent his NFL career with three different franchises.

He was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals, where he was one of their top receivers for eight seasons. The Cardinals would trade him to the Baltimore Ravens for a third and fourth round pick, which would turn out to be ironically bittersweet. Boldin would win a Super Bowl with the Ravens before he was traded to the San Francisco 49ers a month after defeating them.

Boldin left to spend the twilight of his career with the San Francisco 49ers. He was with the 49ers for three seasons, with each one disappointing in their own right. Boldin's performance on the field, however, remained steady. The only disappointing factor about Boldin's performance is that over his three seasons with the 49ers, he only recorded 16 touchdowns.

Boldin still remains one of the most productive 30-year-old players in the NFL and still has the ability to gain separation from defenders. During the 2015 NFL season, Boldin recorded 13 starts, 69 receptions, averaged 11.4 yards per carry, and hauled in four touchdowns, which is pretty impressive for a veteran his age.

Throughout his career, Boldin has amassed 1,009 receptions, 12,195 yards, 13.1 yards per catch, and an impressive 74 touchdowns. The Redskins will look to get a bit of an extra spark from Boldin, as they saw Desean Jackson go down with injury for most of the 2015 regular season.

Adding Boldin would fortify their wide receiving corps and allow the Redskins to draft a bit more purely than they would without him. Wide receiver is high on the list of needs that the Redskins have entering the 2016 NFL Draft, just not more of a priority than center or defensive line.
