Google rolled out an update for its Android KitKat 4.4  last week, and to heal a few other software glitches in its latest OS, the web giant  has come up with a second Android 4.4.2 update.

Google is bringing the latest Android update first to its Nexus device owners, as usual. But this time, the update has arrived just a week after the web giant rolled out the Android 4.4.1. The 4.4.2 update will reach Nexus 5 and other Nexus devices including Nexus 7, Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 over the next few days. User may not find any noticeable changes except for Nexus 5 that gets a new wave of camera features.

Google introduced the most-awaited Android KitKat 4.4 along with its flagship Nexus 5 smartphone last month. Following the launch of the device, issues with the phone's camera and audio were highlighted. But Google worked the past month to address all the problems so users can enjoy the Nexus experience. Just five weeks following the KitKat launch, the Internet giant rolled out the first 4.4.1 update, which mainly focused on the camera enhancements, speaker fixes and other corrections across the new OS. But Google didn't seem satisfied with the previous update, which has reached not more than 10 percent of its Nexus device owners, so another one comes our way.

Google announced the 4.4.2 update to the Nexus family to fix bugs and improve overall performance of the device. If you haven't received the 4.4.1 update yet, don't panic as the latest OTA update can be downloaded directly by skipping the 4.4.1.

Owners of Nexus 5 smartphones will see notable changes following the latest update.

The 4.4.2 update on Nexus 5 improves the performance of the camera. The frame rate of the camera is improved for faster autofocus function with less blurring and it also captures/saves images faster. The HDR+ mode will also get a small progress bar, which lets users know when the camera has captured the best shot, according to Information Week. The images will appear less washed out from what was seen in 4.4 to give vibrant photos.

Users can check for the update by going into the device's Settings > About Phone > Software Update.
