The Nintendo NX has been the source of many rumors in recent months as many anticipate a late 2016 release. These rumors have reached a fever pitch thanks to certain developments such as news concerning the rumored "Call of Duty: Bloodlines" and upcoming "Legend of Zelda" title.

Now these rumors have emerged once more, but this time with physical evidence, thanks to photos of what may or may not be the Nintendo NX controller.

The photo, first posted by Dual Pixels, was reportedly given to them by a new source on reddit who goes by the name Idriss2Dev. What we see is a touchscreen interface and two small thumbsticks plugged into a white cable.

So are these photos to be trusted? The site itself is reputable enough, but Idriss2Dev is only exclusive to them and he isn't likely as well known as other leakers in the industry like Geno.

However, the best way to determine whether these photos are real are to test them yourself and that's what some are doing by taking the photo through a program that determines whether an image has been photoshopped based on highlighting aspects of an image that would be inconsistent in a doctored image.

The general consensus is that while the image shows evidence of being saved over multiple times, as evidenced by the the presence of the large black rectangle to the left and date stamp, the photo shows no clear signs of being photoshopped significantly. Granted, there are inconsistencies here and there, meaning that you should take the leak, as you would with any other of its ilk, with a grain of a salt.

Curiously, it does match the widely reported patent that Nintendo had filed on Sept. 6, 2015. It too features embedded analog sticks and an elliptical touchscreen used to cover the entirety of the device. However that could have been Nintendo's attempt to safeguard an idea, rather than a literal design the company wanted to follow through on.

Either way, with so many alleged leaks occurring, it may finally be time for Nintendo to officially reveal the console before the situation gets out of hand.
