Word got out earlier this week that Kim Kardashian would be launching her very own lipstick, and given the success of her little sister Kylie Jenner's Lip Kit, fans were excited beyond belief. But, as it turns out, Kardashian didn't have much to do with the creation of this lipstick and the real story behind the product is even better than we thought because there are 11 other celebrities involved, and the lipsticks will help a good cause.

Makeup legend Charlotte Tilbury has created lipsticks named after 12 iconic celebrity women - Kardashian, Miranda Kerr, Kate Boswerth, Salma Hayek, Cindy Crawford, Nicole Kidman, Emily Ratajkowski and Helena Bonham-Carter - to create Hot Lips: a collection of lipsticks that honor famous women. Each of the 12 lipstick shades were not just named after the stars, but inspired by their signature look.

As if the tribute shades aren't exciting enough, Tilbury will also be donating proceeds to the charity Women for Women International. For every Hot Lips lipstick sold within the first two months of the launch, £1 will be donated to the cause. The 12 celebrities involved also plan to raise awareness by using #lipstickconfidence on social media once the collection launches on June 27.

"When Women for Women was working in Bosnia 20 years ago, where it's estimated that 50,000 women were raped during the conflict, we did all we could think of to help and then asked the women if there was anything else at all we could bring them. They said lipstick," said Brita Fernandez Schmidt, the executive director of Women for Women International. "Women said they wanted the snipers to know they were killing a beautiful woman. That's why this partnership is so perfect, and Charlotte's passion for the project is so wonderful and so real."

"Lipstick is that thing that pulls you together, and makes you feel like a woman - it gives you confidence and makes you powerful," Tilbury said. "That's why I've called on all of my friends, these beautiful and inspirational women, to help me spread this message as much as we can."

As for the lipsticks, Tilbury worked with these celebs to come up with the perfect name and shade to represent their style. "Helena Bonham-Carter's shade is Hel's Bells - she came up with the idea for the name! - a really deep, wine color with an undertone of this bright magenta," she explained. "Then for Emily Ratajkowski it's this very Seventies retro 'Charlie's Angels' coral we always create for her, she's so incredibly sexy."

"Cindy Crawford's is that amazing Nineties taupe and Kim Kardashian-West's shade is that pale nude-pink that just suits her so well, she's such a modern beauty icon and this is just the Kim Color. We simply called it Kim KW - I got the go-ahead from the 'momager!'" she said.

"Kim is the queen of the nude lip," she added. "And this vintage inspired pale pink nude makes lips look instantly fuller, and irresistible."
