Considering that Henry Cavill portrays Superman, the ultimate Boy Scout in comic book history, it's no surprise that he tries to be a gentleman in real life. Specifically, he's trying to put a stop to, err, enthusiastic female fans hitting on him right in front of his girlfriend.

We have to admit, he's got a solid point there. No one wants to see their significant other fawned over like that while they're standing right there. Thankfully, Cavill is trying to do right by his honey.

The "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" star revealed in a new interview that it "really gets [his] goat" when people "don't respect other people's feelings."

"I've heard some things in my time, I have to say. I'd best not say what," Cavill, 32, said. "I don't mind it - not unless I'm with my girlfriend and someone is being complimentary to me in order to disrespect her."

Cavill understands the price of fame, but that doesn't mean that common decency has to go out the window like the Man of Steel swooping in to catch a falling pedestrian.

"I mean, if a girl shouts something like, 'Oi, love, fancy a shag?' to me as I walk past, I do sometimes wonder how she'd feel if a builder said that to her," Cavill said. "Although, of course, I wouldn't feel physically threatened, as she might."

Cavill is dating 19-year-old Tara King and the couple made their red carpet debut at the Vanity Fair Oscars party last month. Despite the age difference, he says they have plenty in common.

"People say age is just a number. It's actually a real and true sign of someone's maturity," he said. "But in this case, she's fantastic."

Cavill understands that his profession comes with a certain level of public scrutiny and he accepts that as the nature of the beast. But he was willing to discuss one of the lesser-known aspects of being a celebrity in a recent interview.

"I'm slightly wary of saying this, because it can be frowned upon, certainly by members of my community and people outside my community...but I'm not just doing this for the art," Cavill admitted. "The money's fantastic and that's something which I deem - and again, it is frowned upon - very important."

We would hope that being Superman has its perks outside of getting to hang out with Amy Adams, Ben Affleck and other A-listers.

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" will hit theaters next Friday.
