If you asked Kanye West to name the next Michael Jackson and the world's biggest rock star, he'd name himself, of course, and in a recent panel discussion with Swiss architect Jacques Herzog, the superstar rapper also hinted that he's the next Ralph Lauren, as well.

According to Radar Online, West spent an hour on Wednesday chatting with Herzog and others during the Art Basel Miami event with Kim Kardashian, not only suggesting that he is indeed part of "the new frontier" in fashion à la Ralph Lauren, but complaining about the price of fame, dissing watches ("all you who has a watch is checking the time on your iPhones") and discussing his time in art school when he could "paint music instead of see it."

“Famous and frustrated is the most irritating f**king thing…like I am frustrated ’cause I made a film and nobody liked it,” West told the panel, later adding, “I think the world could be saved by design… Made more ergonomic to our current state.”

Speaking of design, West recently called for a boycott of Louis Vuitton after the head of the company in Paris snubbed him, not longer after dissing Nike for refusing to offer him royalties for his Yeezus collection and e-commerce site Zappos for selling "s**t products," which Zappos in turn gave a rather clever response to.

West has also caught flack for comparing his creative struggles to slavery and accusing President Obama's shortcomings of being due to "lack of Jewish connections." He also, however, has never backed down from sharing his thoughts at the risk of being a controversial figure.

"You're gonna love me or you're gonna hate me, but I'm gonna be me," he told Jimmy Kimmel during an interview this year after their Twitter beef.
