No grand plans for traveling this spring break? Not to worry! You can enjoy a staycation if you're not up for a trip. While swarms of college kids will be like pesky tourists for a week, it's perfectly alright to have no spring break plans at all.

A spring break staycation can be a good thing because you'll save on money, you won't have to contend with crazy travel experiences or a crowded venue, and you won't have to stress over packing and unpacking. This is your chance to have a downtime with a lot of flexibility.

Below are some ideas on what you can do during your spring break staycation:

1) Start a hobby.

If you've been dying to try out something creative, this break would be the best time to do it. If a busy actor like Ryan Gosling can take up knitting, there's no reason why you shouldn't do something crafty and artsy, too. Indulging in a hobby is a stress buster from all that school work. It will also provide you the chance to reconnect with yourself as you discover or rediscover your creative abilities.

2) Bike around your town

When was the last time you've biked around your area without any concrete destination? Check out new watering holes and sites as there might be new places to see since you've been too occupied with school projects and responsibilities. Go on a mini-adventure with another friend who hasn't left for spring break. You'll not only get to explore places, you might even lose some weight without feeling like it's exercise.

3) Redecorate your dorm room or apartment.

You could start with simple projects like replacing curtains and adding new decorations or design elements to your room. You might also want to add more shelves, or paint the wall new colors, or come up with more space in your tiny kitchen. Whatever you do, make sure you have the consent of your roommate before changing anything. And don't forget to let your landlord or resident assistant know about your plans.

4) Sleep In.

The point of having a spring break vacation is to recharge before the grueling finals. What better way to do this than to get lots of sleep? Forget setting the alarm clock for now and take an extra hour or two waking up in the morning.

5) Catch up on reading.

You probably have Netflix set for the week, but you can also borrow old magazines, periodicals and books from friends, so you can read while taking a break. You usually won't have energy for this activity while school is in session, so take advantage of this while you can.
