Actor Leonardo DiCaprio won his first-ever Oscar during the 88th annual Academy Awards Sunday night, much to the delight of loyal fans and moviegoers. But his friend and "Titanic" co-star, actress Kate Winslet, could not hide her excitement for DiCaprio and his big win for his lead role in Alejandro González Iñárritu's 2015 film "The Revenant" - and her emotional reaction was caught on camera.

After 12 years and six nominations, DiCaprio took home the 2016 Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role during the televised awards ceremony, beating out Bryan Cranston for his role in "Trubmo," Matt Damon for his part in "The Martian," Michael Fassbender for his role in "Steve Jobs" and Eddie Redmayne for his part in "The Danish Girl."

When DiCaprio took the stage to accept his award, a camera zoomed in on his pal Winslet for her reaction shot. The Academy Award-winning actress (2009's Best Actress for "The Reader") held her folded hands up over her mouth and she watched on from the audience with tears in her eyes as DiCaprio delivered his acceptance speech.

"Thank you to everybody at Fox and New Regency... my entire team," DiCaprio said during his speech. "I have to thank everyone from the very onset of my career... to Mr. Jones for casting me in my first film to Mr. Scorsese for teaching me so much about the cinematic art form. To my parents, none of this would be possible without you. And to my friends, I love you dearly, you know who you are."

Winslet predicted her pal's 2016 Oscar win during an interview on the red carpet of the London Critics Circle Film Awards in January, saying she even preferred DiCaprio over her "Steve Jobs" co-star Michael Fassbender.

"I think it probably will be. I think you can sort of feel it," Winslet explained in an on-camera interview. "I think that everyone wants it for him, it would be amazing. But I think, you can sort of feel the temperature. It's probably going to be Leo's year."
