This is Wesley. This grinning guy is clearly not shy about the new additions in his mouth. If you notice anything a little different about his beaming, adorable smile, it's that he has doggie braces!

Like many millions of human teenagers, Wesley has made a trip to the orthodontist to be fitted with braces. This adorable pup's braces aren't for cosmetic realignment of the teeth, however. Wesley had an uncommon dental problem that meant that his teeth grew in such a way that he couldn't close his mouth or eat comfortably, so his dentist prescribed a short round of braces, reported The Dodo.

He'll only have to wear them for a few weeks. He had the braces fitted at the Harborfront Hospital For Animals. He's shown no signs of discomfort, reported staff at the hospital on its Facebook page.

We had no idea that dogs sometimes needed braces, and apparently, we're not alone. Dr. James Moore is the doggie dentist at the Harborfront Hospital for Animals, and he's the one that gave Wesley his braces. People often don't know that doggie dentists even exist! "When people hear that Dr. Moore is a 'doggie dentist,' they immediately say things like: 'What? Does he put braces on dogs, too?' The answer is yes. Yes, he does," wrote the hospital on its Facebook page.

We're loving Wesley's positive attitude and can't wait to see the "after" pictures.
