To many, the letters "BLT" are representative of a delicious sandwich that contains bacon, lettuce and tomato. But, at Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary in Locust Grove, Calif., BLT means something altogether different - Bear, Lion and Tiger. Why? At this sanctuary, a bear named Baloo, a lion named Leo and a tiger named Shere Khan have been raised like brothers and have refused to spend any time apart for the past 15 years.

It's very unusual to find animals of these three species living in harmony, but these guys have been through a lot together. They were rescued by the sanctuary together in 2001 after being found by police during an Atlanta drug raid. They were kept as cubs in cages far too small for them in a drug dealer's basement, and all three were malnourished and severely injured, reported Noah's Ark's BLT page.

The three were rehabilitated at the sanctuary, but because of their injuries they were deemed unfit to return to the wild, so they stayed put. The sanctuary never separated them because they clearly found comfort and love in each other, reported The Dodo. They've lived together in a sunny enclosure ever since. After a harrowing early life, they've got everything they need - food, water, health care and each other.

Allison Hedgecoth is the curator for Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary, and she's known the three adorable animals for many years. "All three are still equally affectionate with one another," said Hedgecoth, according to The Dodo. They're a family.
