JonBenét Ramsey was a 6-year-old beauty queen from Colorado who was found murdered in her family's basement the day after Christmas in 1996, but according to Internet conspiracy theorists, her death was all a hoax. A 2014 YouTube video is recirculating online by user Dave Johnson, claiming that pop star Katy Perry is really a grown-up Ramsey.

"JonBenét Ramsey did not die. Nobody died, nobody got hurt," Johnson explained in his YouTube video. "That sacrifice was in-name only, and that sacrifice was to get something and that sacrifice was to become a star. JonBenét Ramsey became Katy Perry, that's a fact so if any of you continue to lie about this person dying, you are in fact a false witness to murder and death."

He claimed that Perry looks like a grown up version of Ramsey and that Perry's mother Mary Perry and father Keith Hudson are really Ramsey's parents, father John Ramsey and mother Patsy Ramsey.

"Looking easily through, you can see the so-called parents of the Katy Perry character are in fact the same two as the JonBenét-he shaved his head, she lost some weight," Johnson said in the clip.

He went on to provide "proof" of his claims by merging photos of Perry's parents with Ramsey's parents and also merged photos of Perry with Ramsey.

However, there are two major holes in the theory, according to Entertainment Tonight. Ramsey's mother passed away in 2006 after a battle with ovarian cancer, and Ramsey's father remarried five years later. Perry is also 31 years old, which is six years older than the age Ramsey would be if she were still alive.

Ramsey's father John spoke out last November in an interview with Barbara Walters about how the family dealt with her death, the New York Daily News reported. Ramsey's father and her brother Burke Hamilton Ramsey, who was only 9 years old at the time, were two of the suspects in the murder case, but all of the family members were exonerated when DNA evidence pointed to an unrelated male.
