Samsung is partnering with Barnes & Noble to offer safe and regulated reading and learning experiences for children on the new Galaxy Tab 3 Kids.

Samsung is ruling the world with its high-end gadgets targeting mature audience, but this time the tech giant has gone out of its usual way to tap in the younger audience. The tech giant introduced its first tablet designed especially for kids in October. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids is a redesigned version of Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 with pre-installed kids' software and games. Now, the company is offering a safe and regulated reading and learning experience through its unique tablet.

Samsung and Barnes & Noble have joined hands to offer children more educational content through Galaxy Tab 3 Kids. The popular bookseller offers a new NOOK app for kids on the new 7-inch tablet. The app gives its users access to a wide range of educational content and also complies with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) for a secure and regulated reading experience.

"This new relationship between Barnes & Noble and Samsung highlights both companies' commitment to children's literacy and learning," Mike Saturnia, Vice President and General Manager of NOOK Sales & Business Development, said in a press release"By making our NOOK App for Kids available on the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids device, we are giving parents a powerful tool to encourage their children to digitally read, discover and learn in a safe environment."

Owners of Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids can register for a new NOOK account and receive more than $50 worth free kids eBooks and magazines. These also include popular titles such as Strawberry Shortcake: Field Day, Kung Fu Panda: Art of Balance, Madagascar 3: Long Live the King, Penguins of Madagascar: Wonder from Down Under Part 1, Beast Friends Forever, Horrid Henry, Quest of the Warrior Sheep, Elliot & The Goblin War, and the latest edition of American Girl and Ranger Rick.

The new Galaxy Tab 3 Kids offers convenient dual operating modes. Parents can easily switch between the standard mode, offering a similar experience of Galaxy Tab 3 7.0, and the Kids mode. With the introduction of NOOK app, parents can access more than 3 million books, magazines, newspapers, comics and graphic novels. The standard mode switches the app to full NOOK for Android app.

Current tablet users can manually do a software update to get the NOOK app and Samsung will include the app in Tab 3 Kids, later this year. The Galaxy Tab for kids is priced at $229.99 and is available in  leading retail stores including Best Buy, Fry's, Office Depot and also through Samsung.com.
