Former "Top Gear" host Jeremy Clarkson has reached a settlement with the BBC show's former producer, whom Clarkson admittedly attacked physically and verbally last year, according to BBC News. Clarkson issued an apology to Oisin Tymon and settled the £100,000 racial discrimination and personal injury lawsuit Tymon filed against Clarkson and the BBC in November, as HNGN previously reported.

"I would like to say sorry, once again, to Oisin Tymon for the incident and its regrettable aftermath," Clarkson said, according to Variety.

"I want to reiterate that none of this was in any way his fault. I would also like to make it clear that the abuse he has suffered since the incident is unwarranted and I am sorry too that he has had to go through that. I am pleased that this matter is now resolved. Oisin was always a creatively exciting part of 'Top Gear,' and I wish him every success with his future projects," he added.

Clarkson punched Tymon and hurled racial slurs at him after the former host found out that there was no hot food available at the end of a day's shooting in March 2015. The altercation prompted the BBC to conduct an internal inquiry, which ultimately led to the end of Clarkson's employment with the broadcasting corporation, according to The Independent.

Clarkson has since reunited with his "Top Gear" co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May as well as the show's former executive Andy Wilman for Amazon Prime's upcoming motoring show, whereas the BBC introduced its new season of "Top Gear" with Chris Evans and other presenters, including Matt Le Blanc.
