The synopsis for "Marvel's Most Wanted" could lead to some very unfortunate circumstances for S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Bobbi Morse and her ex-husband Lance Hunter later this season on "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."

The ABC series, which hasn't been officially picked up, will spinoff Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood's characters for their own adventure. The split could cost Bobbi and Hunter nearly everything and leave them with almost no one to rely on except for each other.

"Marvel's Most Wanted" will center on Bobbi and Hunter, "two ex-spies and ex-spouses who are on the run with no friends, no S.H.I.E.L.D. and a long list of enemies looking to claim a bounty on their heads. Able to trust no one but each other, Bobbi and Hunter form an uneasy alliance with Dominic Fortune (Delroy Lindo), a rogue adventurer with a wealth of resources and even more adversaries, who agrees to protect them so long as they help him with his own agenda. These two heroes will help anyone in need, all while trying to uncover the conspiracy that put their own lives in jeopardy," according to the synopsis obtained by Comic Book Resources.

Bobbi joined Coulson's (Clark Gregg) team at the beginning of season two following her undercover stint spying on Daniel Whitehall and Hydra. Her arrival made things a bit uncomfortable for S.H.I.E.L.D.'s newest recruit Hunter given their past history. The exes reconciled and Hunter saved Bobbi from Grant Ward's (Brett Dalton) torture chamber at the end of season two and then spent much of this season trying to hunt down the ex-S.H.I.E.L.D. agent.

ABC's synopsis for the midseason return of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." could also shed light on what leads to Bobbi and Hunter's falling out with the team.

"Uncertain about who (or what) they are facing, the stakes for S.H.I.E.L.D. and their assembled group of Secret Warriors are higher than ever, bringing some members of the team closer together and driving others apart."

Could the latter be Bobbi and Hunter?
