Marlene Ricketts, wife of TD Ameritrade founder Joe Ricketts, has been revealed to have donated $3 million to a super PAC whose only aim is to stop the rise of GOP front-runner Donald Trump. The donation was confirmed by Brian Baker, an adviser to the Ricketts family.

"Marlene Ricketts shares the disappointment of many Trump supporters who believe that our leaders in Washington have failed us, and also believes our next president must be a principled leader. In her view, Donald Trump has not been a consistent conservative and therefore would be unpredictable as our party leader," Baker said, reports The New York Times.

The group spearheading the anti-Trump efforts and recipient of Ricketts' largesse is the "Our Principles PAC," which is run by Katie Packer, one-time Mitt Romney adviser.

"The problem with Donald Trump is, I think, he's downright dangerous, and he would basically destroy the Republican Party. If you nominate a guy who abandons all the views we have advocated for the last few decades, then we don't have a party," Packer said, according to The Hill.

The Ricketts own the Chicago Cubs and were Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker's supporters during his Presidential bid.

"We will continue to shine a bright light on Trump's liberal statements and inconsistencies," Packer said of her anti-Trump plans, reports USA Today.
