"Mad Max: Fury Road" actress Abbey Lee is in talks to play the role of Tirana in Sony and Media Rights Capital's much-awaited film adaptation of Stephen King's novel series, "The Dark Tower," according to Deadline.

Lee will star alongside Idris Elba, who has reportedly been tapped to play gunslinger Roland Deschain and Matthew McConughey, who will portray the ominous man in black, as HNGN previously reported.

The film, directed by Nikolaj Arcel, is adapted from the first book in the series "The Gunslinger" and follows the story of Deschain and his relationship with young protégé Jake Chambers.

Ron Howard, Brain Grazer and Erica Huggins from Imagine are producing the project along with Weed Road's Akiva Goldsman and King. Jeff Pinker and Goldsman have written the film's screenplay and the former will also serve as an executive producer on the project, according to The Wrap.

Lee will be seen next in the upcoming fantasy film "Gods of Egypt" and Nicholas Winding Refn's "Neon Demon."

"The Dark Tower" is scheduled to hit theaters Jan. 13, 2017.
