Amos Nachoum, 65, is an incredible, brave wildlife photographer who focuses on the largest aquatic animals around and leads incredible expeditions through his company, BigAnimals Expeditions. He'd wanted to photograph polar bears while swimming for over ten years, and he finally achieved his goal, reported The Dodo. After swimming off the coast of Canada for five days, he found a family of polar bears that let him get close and take an incredible series of photos.

He wanted to showcase the softer, cuter, elegant side of polar bears, and has done so successfully.

Watch Barcroft TV's amazing video below to learn about how Nachoum managed to get these amazing shots, and about his previous failed attempt at doing the same.

It's an amazing scene. The mother polar bear is teaching her cubs to swim, and Nachoum and his team followed them around several islands. The mother wasn't aggressive with the group of equipment-clad humans because the photographers kept their distance and stayed right in the bear's eye line.

"She always knew where we were and that meant to her that she's safe, that we're not crossing the line. One of the babies actually went down to look at me, came close as three feet away, and then went back to the surface," said Nachoum, according to The Dodo.
