Former "Bachelor" Jake Pavelka finally broke his silence regarding the death Lex McAllister, who was a contestant on his season of the ABC reality show. The 31-year-old was pronounced dead on Tuesday after she was hospitalized for an apparent suicide attempt, according to People.

"Im so sad to hear about Alexa. Such a beautiful girl," Pavelka wrote on his Twitter account. "My heart breaks for her family. Covering them in prayer during this rough time."

McAllister appeared on Season 14 of "The Bachelor" when she was 25 years old. She was eliminated in the first episode, but seemed to make a lasting impression on Pavelka.

"I can vividly remember Alexa getting out of the limo on that first night," Pavelka told People. "She was a pretty girl. I'm really sad. I feel horrible for her family and I can't imagine what they're going through. My prayers are with her friends and family."

On Sunday, Feb. 13, police arrived at the apartment of McAllister in Columbus, Ohio, after responding to a 911 call that said she had overdosed on prescription pills, according to Us Weekly. She was then rushed to the hospital where she was in stable condition, but her health soon began to deteriorate. McAllister passed away two days later when her family decided to take her off life support.

McAllister was not the only contestant from Season 14 who passed away from suicide. In the summer of 2013, Gia Allemand died in the hospital two days after she tried to hang herself. Allemand was 29.
