Former "Bachelor" contestant Lex McAllister is dead after an apparent suicide, according to TMZ. She competed during season 14 with bachelor Jake Pavelka.

Law enforcement in Columbus, Ohio received a 911 call around 2 p.m. on Saturday claiming McAllister had overdosed on prescription pills. She arrived at the hospital in stable condition but her body began to shutdown and her family pulled her off life support on Tuesday morning, according to TMZ.

Authorities and family both believe she committed suicide. McAllister had struggled with depression and bipolar disorder, a family member told TMZ.

The reality TV star lasted posted to her Instagram account a week ago to wish her best friend a happy birthday.

McAllister was voted off during the first week of "The Bachelor" season 14 but made headlines later when Pavelka and the winner Vienna Girardi broke up in summer 2010, claiming Girardi could not be at fault for the split.

"I find it hard to believe that she is guilty of anything negative in the breakup ... except for falling in love with a man whose heart was clearly not available for her in the first place," McAllister told TMZ at the time after Pavelka claimed his fiancé was "steppin' out" on him.

"The Bachelor" is currently in its 20th season and airs on Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
