During last night’s Grammy telecast, viewers got to hear a snippet of Pink’s cover of the iconic Jefferson Airplane song “White Rabbit,” which she recorded for the upcoming Disney movie “Alice Through the Looking Glass.” The song can be heard in a newly released, extended advertisement for the film, and also in a special video all about the pop singer’s involvement with the movie’s soundtrack.

In the clip highlighting Pink’s work for the colorful adventure, viewers see her in an interview setting and also in the recording studio. “I like quirky, I like weird – and this movie is one of the quirkier, more creative stories,” she says. The three-time Grammy winner also reveals she is writing a “completely original” tune for the flick, which is “one of the more exciting things” she has ever done. Watch the video below.

“White Rabbit” was a huge hit in 1967 for psychedelic rock band Jefferson Airplane. The song, which made it all the way to No. 8 on the charts, was written by the group’s singer, Grace Slick. Just like this Disney franchise, the song was based on Lewis Carroll’s novels “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” and “Through the Looking Glass.”

According to Slick’s bio on Jefferson Airplane’s website, she wrote the song as a “slap toward parents who read their children” books like “Alice in Wonderland,” “Peter Pan” and “The Wizard of Oz.” “They all have a place where children get drugs, and are able to fly or see an Emerald City or experience extraordinary animals and people,” said Slick, according to Rolling Stone. “And our parents are suddenly saying, ‘Why are you taking drugs?’ Well, hello!”

“Alice Through the Looking Glass” is the follow-up to 2010’s “Alice in Wonderland,” both live-action versions of the classic tales. The film features the return of Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Mia Wasikowska as Alice, Anne Hathaway as the White Queen and Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen. Sacha Baron Cohen joins the cast as Time. The 3-D fantasy comes out May 27.
