A very close animal friendship formed at the Garland Animal Shelter in Garland, Texas, and when things like this happen, shelters often try to keep the buddies together. When it's two dogs or two cats, it's not a very hard feat, but the Garland Animal Shelter wasn't sure that Sirence and Thing Two - a dog and a duck - would be able to find a forever home together. Luckily, someone stepped up to the plate and opened their home to the duck and dog pair, reported the Dodo.

Sirence and Thing Two didn't even meet at the shelter, funnily enough. They knew each other from before, reported Fox 4 News. (We wonder where they met!)

Volunteers that work at the shelter loved seeing the two "brothers" hanging out and playing, and are sad that they're leaving, but they're thrilled to see them go together.

The video below, uploaded by the End, tells their story.

This is a wonderful happy ending to a story of a funny friendship. It's like something from a cartoon! We hope that they continue to live happily together for many years to come, and would love to see some footage of them in their new environment.
