Jessica Jones possesses a few superpowers, but none could help her stop drinking, a favorite pastime since Kilgrave boggled her brain. Even with Kilgrave dead, the power of the drink will continue its strong hold over the Marvel heroine, and executive producer Melissa Rosenberg has no plans for Jessica to confront her alcohol problem when "Jessica Jones" returns for a second season on Netflix.

"I think it's a problem for her currently," Rosenberg told Entertainment Weekly. "It is certainly an element in her life. It's one of her issues. I don't know if I'm interested in taking on alcoholism, but then again, you don't know."

Kilgrave's legacy will loom over Jessica (Krysten Ritter) in the second season, and the show will dive deeper into her backstory, much of which was shaped by the death of her family when she was a teenager.

"I think I just want to continue with her character," Rosenberg told reporters at the Television Critics Association in January. "She's a very damaged character and her damage goes beyond Kilgrave [David Tennant]. There's a lot to mine from in her backstory and in her present day situation. I think we'll find something."

"Jessica Jones" has not gone back into production for the next season, which will continue to draw its inspiration from Brian Michael Bendis' comic series "Alias." Netflix will launch "Luke Cage," the third show from "The Defenders" series, later this year following the second season premiere of "Daredevil" next month.

The complete first season of "Marvel's Jessica Jones" is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
