There are over 300 recognized kpop groups as of the moment, and in 2015, we witnessed a sea of comebacks and debuts from our favorite hallyu stars.

This year, the battle starts early as big names begin 2015 by announcing their comeback dates.

Rainbow vs. AOA Cream

Following Kara's disbandment, DSP Media's other girl group, Rainbow, announced their mid-February come back. The seven-member girl group took the backseat for a year after the less stellar chart performance of their last comeback: Black Swan.

Nonetheless, Rainbow, whose debut members are very much intact, continues to have a good number of supporters. DSP Media is expected to give their all to Rainbow - their only hope after Kara members left their agency.

Meanwhile, top girl group AOA does not show any signs of slowing down this year. Seolhyun is arguably the most talked about female star in Korea. Choa and Jimin as busy with individual musical and variety activities while Mina is also into acting.

Yuna, Chanmi, and Hyejeong, on the other hand, are gearing up for a unit debut under the banner of AOA Cream. The magical angel girl group is currently gaining comparisons to Winx Club and Sailor Moon. Some fans are guessing, their single "I'm Jelly Baby" will be a trot song. Other viewers are predicting that they will be taking the Orange Caramel route.

Taeyeon Vs. Tiffany Vs. Jessica

Taeyeon recently came back with the visually delighting and melancholic "Rain" MV, which immediately scored all-kill in music charts. Rumor has it that Tiffany is next in line and is already gearing up for her first solo release. But wait, Jessica's recent performances and her frequent appearances with Kris is also suggesting that she may be readying her fans for her very own solo debut.

Dal Shabet Vs. Stellar

Dal Shabet recently came back as a four-member girl group with album "Naturalness," reports All Kpop.

Adapting a lighter concept while still maintaining their sexiness, the doll-like members are positive that fans will continue to support them. Dal Shabet hopes to finally score a No. 1 in a music show - an achievement they have yet to achieve, despite promoting for a long time and achieving moderate success.

Meanwhile, we have yet to see Stellar do well in a less provocative concept. The four-member girl group recently came back with the lolita-themed "Sting," reports Soompi. While still sexy, the MV is comparatively decent when placed side by side with the butt-grabbing MV of Marionette. Stellar's 2015 comeback "Vibrato" also raised eyebrows for its vagina concept.

Gfriend vs. Twice

Gfriend is maintaining their momentum with "Rough," a catchy song accompanied by an energetic and challenging choreo that the girls seem to pull-off so well.

Meanwhile, because of Twice's explosive debut in 2015, fans have requested more of the group. Thus, the nine-piece JYP Entertainment girl group were back in the music shows in January to accommodate the request of fans.
