The North Carolina State Wolfpack was not expected to be a spectacular team this season, but it came in with the hopes that it might be able to earn a spot in the NCAA tournament. The Wolfpack certainly have the talent to be able to make the big dance, but not everything has gone quite as well as the team had hoped.  A big part of the team this year was supposed to be transfer Terry Henderson, but he hasn't played since the very first game of the season, and he is still without a timetable for a return, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.

Henderson was not a very highly touted recruit back in the 2012 class, but he initially had committed to West Virginia before deciding to transfer to N.C. State. Henderson was considered a three-star recruit, according to 247 Sports, but he had very good freshman and sophomore seasons as a Mountaineer, so when he chose N.C. State the team had extremely high hopes for him.

Due to NCAA rules Henderson had to sit out a season, but this year he was expected to make a major impact. Unfortunately for Henderson and the Wolfpack, he injured his ankle just seven minutes into the season-opening game against William & Mary. Henderson knew once the injury happened that it wasn't just a sprained ankle, according to Joe Gilglio of The News & Observer, and he was correct in that thought as he tore ligaments in his right ankle and had to undergo surgery.

Henderson has been anxious to get back on the floor, but it has been frustrating for him because the process has moved slowly. At this point it is anybody's guess when Henderson might be able to get back on the floor, but it can't be ruled out that he misses the rest of the season given the lack of timetable.

N.C. State entered ACC play with a real chance to make a statement and a push for the NCAA tournament, but it has lost eight of its first 10 games in the league. Guys like Maverick Rowan and Caleb Martin, who were expected to pick up the slack with Henderson out, haven't shot the ball all that well this season, and that has been a huge reason for the underwhelming season. Anthony "Cat" Barber has been an ACC Player of the Year candidate this season, but the rest of his team has kind of been a letdown, so it has left N.C. State and Wolfpack fans wondering "what if?"
