Kobi Simmons is set to announce his college decision on Saturday after he cut his list of schools down to three (Kentucky, Ohio State and Arizona). Simmons is one of the best players that has still not committed to a school and his commitment is a big one for all of the schools involved. Ohio State, once the favorites to land Simmons, has stopped recruiting him narrowing his choices down to Arizona and Kentucky, according to Adam Zagoria of SNY.tv.

Simmons' recruitment has been interesting to follow because the experts have been all over the place on where he might end up. Early on in his recruitment, Kentucky was in the lead to land him but then Ohio State put on a full-court press during his official visit and took the lead. The Buckeyes brought back several star players, including Evan Turner and Michael Redd among others, to take Simmons to a Buckeyes football game and he was apparently very impressed by the whole thing.

Now Ohio State has taken their name out of the running, for whatever reason, and it seems as though Arizona now has the edge on getting a commitment from Simmons, according to 247 Sports. The Wildcats have lost two of their last three games in Pac-12 play so they need some good news and they are fully expected to get some on Saturday.

Simmons is one of only six five-star recruits left on the board in the 2016 class and he is ranked as the 18th best prospect overall and fourth best point guard, according to ESPN. Simmons has great size for a point guard at 6-foot-6 and is considered one of the best scorers in the 2016 class. Simmons is also very versatile as he can play both off and on the ball and has the athleticism to become a very good defender.

If Simmons does choose Arizona, as many people expect, he will be only the second recruit Sean Miller has gotten a commitment from for 2016. Simmons would join four-star power forward Lauri Markkanen in a class that is ranked 81st right now but would shoot up with the addition of a talent like him. Arizona is also still in on Josh Jackson, Thon Maker and Taurean Thompson among others so Miller still has some ground he can make up fairly quickly.
