Is E.L. James close to casting another role in "Fifty Shades of Grey"? Rose McGowan is reportedly the latest name rumored to join the cast as Elena Lincoln aka Mrs. Robinson.
James, who is known for teasing fans on Twitter, had a short conversation with McGowan that led some fans to believe she was close to making another casting announcement. On Nov. 14, McGowan tweeted "Four chickens and one steak w/ @e_l_james."
James responded "Gravy on both hands with @rosemcgowan."
The exchange caused some fans to wonder if McGowan was being considered for the role of Elena. Casting for the role has been fairly quiet. There were rumors recently that actress Katie Holmes wanted the role and at one point Charlize Theron and Kim Cattrall were rumored to be fan-favorites. Elena is one of Christian Grey's business partners but most importantly she is the one who introduced a young Christian to the world of S&M. When Christian tells Anastasia Steele about Elena she gives her the nickname "Mrs. Robinson."
Throughout the books Ana doesn't like Elena and blames her for Christian's secret kinky obsessions. With production for the movie scheduled to start at the beginning of December in Vancouver, it's likely the rest of the cast will be announced in the next couple weeks. So far James announced that Dakota Johnson will play the shy and timid Anastasia Steele, Jamie Dornan will play Christian Grey, Luke Grimes was announced as Elliot Grey and Victor Rasuk signed on to play Christian's rival Jose Rodriguez.
Recently the movie released the first character photos of Ana and Christian to mixed reactions. Some fans loved the pictures and felt Dornan and Johnson nailed the characters while others felt neither one did a good job channeling the kinky couple.
"She looks terrified," @ChloeSackur commented on the picture. "He looks a bit regretful, non? Like he's been sold into bondage or something."
"Not at all impressed with the cast of 50 Shades of Grey," @claireEvans tweeted.
"The moment I've been waiting for. The official cast Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele fr [sic] 50 shades of Grey," @AnneAsyikin commented.
