During the Monday night (Feb. 1) episode of MTV's hit reality TV series "Teen Mom OG," star Amber Portwood was forced to defend her fiancé Matt Baier from allegations brought forward by her ex-fiancé Gary Shirley, as previously reported by HNGN. In an attempt to dig up dirt on Portwood during a heated custody battle for their daughter Leah, Shirley pulled up court records that allegedly proved Baier had more children than Portwood knew about - and she spoke out against those allegations in an exclusive video interview with MTV.

"When Gary approached me with all the cameras there," Portwood told MTV, "I think that was really like tasteless, honestly."

She went on to explain that Shirley admitted he found out about Baier's pending child support cases weeks before, but he waited until the cameras were filming to show her the paperwork. The court filings indicated that Baier had seven children, but he had told Portwood he only had five.

"I think what his main goal was is to humiliate us and to try to make our family look like it's not stable because it was when we were in the big custody battle with Leah," Portwood explained. "It's not accurate, he does only have five kids, yes I did know about them, but the other ones are older with families and it wasn't something that we wanted out."

She said that it doesn't matter to her how many children Baier has because she already knew about and accepted Baier's troubling history with drugs, addiction and his womanizing ways. But she did admit Shirley's allegations brought problems into their relationship.

"We went through a really rough patch because of this because I had no trust in him anymore, and it's like we had to rebuild our trust again in our relationship," Portwood said. "I really think Gary could've went about it a different way because it was a really vulnerable and hard position to put me in."
