Reddit has released its own private Android beta app and promised that an iOS version will follow soon.

Company founder and CEO Steve Huffan made the announcement in a Reddit post, saying that mobile was a big priority for them. He added that they have more changes planned for this year. "Some changes will be big, others small and, inevitably, not everything will work, but all our efforts are towards making Reddit better," Huffan wrote.

The mobile version of Reddit offers users the ability to scroll top stories, post images, post text or links, comment and vote, according to PC Mag. The app can be used by several accounts, and users can also share, bookmark, hide or report a post using the app.

However, the app has not had glowing reviews, with Android Police saying that the beta "doesn't bring anything mind-blowing to the table, at least at the current state of its development." They also said that the app needed a better way to see images and that opening links were slow. Yet, they did concede that "there is the blueprint for a nice app here."

Reddit, which was founded in June 2005, had over 234 million visitors last month, according to TechCrunch.
