The NBA trade deadline is less than three weeks away so naturally the rumor mill has really picked up. One team that has been extremely prevalent in trade rumors all season has been the New Orleans Pelicans. At this point it is very well known that a lot of teams want to get their hands on Ryan Anderson but the Pelicans are hesitant to trade him. The Pelicans have some other players whose names have been thrown around and they are Jrue Holiday and Tyreke Evans.

Holiday was on a minutes restriction for much of this season as he has dealt with chronic leg issues but recently that restriction has been lifted and he is playing great basketball. Holiday is signed through next season for a little more than $12 million so it would make sense if teams had interest in him as he is a former All-Star with a ton of talent who is under contract, at a reasonable price, beyond this season. Holiday though, is not drawing that much interest because teams are "petrified" of his leg issues, according to Zach Lowe of ESPN, and because of that it is unlikely that he gets traded.

The only way a deal for a Holiday deal to happen would be for the Pelicans to unload him and get virtually nothing in return. Trading for Holiday would be an enormous risk due to his injuries so teams likely wouldn't want to give up anything of value for him. Instead of trading him the Pelicans will likely hold on to him and hope he can stay healthy and continue to play the way he has been recently.

While a Holiday trade is extremely unlikely, the same cannot be said for Tyreke Evans. Evans himself has dealt with injury issues this season as he underwent knee surgery before the season began and has recently missed time due to that knee. Evans though, has been on the floor for 25 games this season and in those games he has played extremely well as he is averaging 15.2 points, 6.6 assists and 5.2 rebounds per game while making 39 percent of his threes.

The Pelicans are currently gauging his value on the trade market, according to Michael Scotto of Sheridan Hoops, and he should draw some interest.  Like Holiday, Evans is signed through next season at a very reasonable number ($10.2 million) so perspective trade partners would be more likely to give up something to get him considering he wouldn't be a rental. The Pelicans likely won't move on from Evans unless they really like the deal but based on the way he has played this season and his contract he should draw some pretty significant interest.
