Motorola has slashed the price of its Moto X smartphone down to $50 with a 2-year contract. But the offer is only available for Verizon customers and should be ordered before Monday, November 18.

Motorola is not waiting for the festive season to begin before offering attractive deals on its smartphone. The price of the customizable Moto X smartphone has been dropped by 50 percent on its initial payment to $50, but only for Verizon customers. The Moto X smarpthone can be purchased online via Motorola's Moto Maker website. The offer lasts only till Monday, November 18, 2013.

Customers can select their choice of colors for the front and back panel as well as the accent. Motorola allows buyers to get a personal message printed on the back cover of the Moto X, select protective case and additional phone accessories. Moto X buyers can also choose a name that should appear on the welcome screen, external storage capacity, and also the wallpaper on the phone.

When buyers select their carrier as Verizon while checking out, the initial payment automatically drops to $50 and the rest is the normal check-out procedure. The smartphone will be shipped within an estimated five days. By ordering the device online, customers will be entitled to a two-year contract with Verizon, which remains unchanged.

Motorola's flagship smartphone is widely touted as being made in the U.S. It sports a 4.7-inch 1,280x720 pixel OLED screen, 1.7GHz dual-core Qualcomm S4 Pro processor, 2GB RAM, a 10-megapixel rear-facing 1080p HD video camera, 2-megapixel front camera, 4G LTE support, and a 2,200mAh battery for extended phone life.
