Motorola has dropped the price of its flagship smartphone Moto X down to $99 on a two-year contract with leading U.S. carriers.

Motorola made a huge comeback with the launch of its latest flagship Moto X smartphone. The smartphone was proudly advertised as "made in USA" unlike the ones from Apple and Samsung in the market. Despite the efforts, the sales have been just on par with Samsung Galaxy S4 and Apple iPhone 5S.

Motorola now offers its Moto X smartphone for $99, but with a two-year contract with any U.S. carrier. The smartphone is available with all major U.S. carriers including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon and US Cellular. But if you are craving for a customized Moto X, then AT&T holds the exclusivity in that field. On the other hand, US Cellular may attract many buyers with its incredible deal by offering a $75 credit for customers who are willing to switch carriers, they can keep their old number. Basically a Moto X smartphone will only cost you $25 on US Cellular.

Motorola announced the launch of Moto X smartphone in August this year and it was available for $199 with a two-year contract. The first smartphone since Google officially took over Motorola Mobility, offers a wide spectrum of features including an impressive 4.7-inch, 1,280-by-720 display with 316 pixels per inch and uses 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro. The uniqueness comes from its widely advertised "designed and assembled in U.S.A" tag line. The smartphone is assembled in a huge plant in Fort Worth, Texas, and the device reaches customers within four days of placing an order.

The price drop is likely to fetch new buyers in the market and hopefully turn the company's sales.
