Gabrielle Union sparked a Twitter hashtag after she threw shade at Fox News correspondent Stacey Dash, inspiring social media users to ask "Who Is Stacey Dash?," USA Today reported. The actress took a jab at Dash after her anti-BET, anti-Black History Month comments last week in response to the #OscarsSoWhite hashtag and Oscar nominations controversy.

Union, the 43-year-old star of BET's hit scripted drama "Being Mary Jane," attended the Sundance Film Festival premiere of her new film "The Birth of a Nation" on Monday night when a reporter brought up Dash and her recent comments on Fox News, according to the Associated Press.

"Who's that? Who's Stacey dash? Is she like related to Damon Dash? Was she on Roc-A-Fella?" Union asked, and the reporter explained Dash's anti-BET comment.

"I heard of a crazy lady once, maybe last week, but I don't know what her name is," Union said in the on-camera interview. "Yeah, it's like why there's a need for 'The Birth of a Nation' and why there's a need for the Country Music Awards and the AMA awards - if you don't see yourself reflected in mainstream awards, you tend to create your own."

Union stars in "The Birth of a Nation," a biographical film about the former American slave Nat Turner who led a movement to free blacks in Virginia, according to IMDB.

Dash called for the elimination of BET, the BET Awards and the Image Awards to avoid controversy, like the one surrounding the Academy Awards. Because of the lack of ethnic diversity among nominees across major categories, fans and celebrities called for an Oscars boycott, as previously reported by HNGN. Union offered her own opinion on Dash's comments.

"The more we focus on inclusion and a true representation of this country, I think that crazy lady will have less to say," Union said.
