Chris Pine dropped by "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Monday night to discuss his latest film "The Finest Hours," but his discussion of another film was what excited his audience. Pine had just flown in from London for the show where he is shooting DC Comic feature film "Wonder Woman." The actor opened up to the late night host about how filming is going and why the story of Wonder Woman is so essential to tell.

Kimmel asked Pine about some of Wonder Woman's iconic tools – like her invisible plane and golden lasso – both of which the actor claimed he had never even heard of before his involvent in the project.

"I can't talk about specifics, but there's all sorts of fun stuff," Pine simply replied.

"What I think is neat about it is with all the Thors and Captain Kirks, with men at the helm it's always a revenge cycle thing. We're going to go get the bad guys, and the bad guys are defeated," Pine told Kimmel. "What I think is really lovely – having a woman at the helm of something like this – is there's a great deal more compassion and love at the center of the story, which for something as big a film as this is going be. It's wonderful – the little bit we can do to hopefully inch this universe towards something less aggressive and violent as this world can be."
