It's rare that you hear about a cat going on a drug-fueled rampage - those are usually left to humans. However, a shelf in a pet store in Zwolle, Overijssel, in the Netherlands fell victim to a cat that walked in and went straight for the catnip toys. She ended up rolling around the pile of playthings, first on the shelf and then on the toy-covered ground, reported the Daily Mail. She made quite the mess, but the employees at the store found it pretty entertaining, so they filmed the cat's antics.

This first video, where we see the cat starting to get excited by the mountain of catnip toys, was originally uploaded by Pets Place to their Facebook and then posted on YouTube by user SensualCat.

The second video, aptly titled "Catnip Is One Hell Of a Drug," shows the cat on the floor, continuing to flail happily, if more relaxedly, was uploaded by YouTube user Kmlkmljkl.

Luckily, the cat was eventually picked up by her owner, reported the Dodo. We hope that she's feeling back to normal!

We still don't know exactly why catnip has such an effect on cats. It seems to trigger the part of their brains that release happy hormones. To humans, it's an innocuous member of the mint family, explained the Daily Mail.
