It's been about a year since Lil Wayne filed a $51 million lawsuit against fellow rapper Birdman to end his contract with his record label Cash Money for delaying the release of his long-awaited album "Tha Carter V." While the two have had a rough year, it seems as though they're finally looking to squash the beef, but that doesn't mean Weezy is going to change his mind about the lawsuit.

The two were photographed together for the first time on New Years Eve, and this seemed to indicate a positive reconciliation, according to BET. They then partied together at LIV Nightclub in Miami on Sunday and even made a very special announcement together that they were ending their long-standing feud.

"This is my motherf-king son and Ima die for him" Birdman told the crowd. "Ima live for him and Ima motherf-cking kill for him. Ya hear me? That ain't ever gonna change, f-ker. It's YMCMB for life."

Many fans took this as good news and that the two would be settling the lawsuit, but as it turns out, Lil Wayne is still going forward with it. Apparently, his main demands were the release of "Tha Carter V," and he still wants Birdman to give up the millions he owes him, so there has been no talk of a settlement, Young Money sources told TMZ. The stakes are high as Lil Wayne has even threatened to take Drake and Nicki Minaj with him if he leaves the Cash Money record label.

The Miami reunion was a sentimental moment and Birdman's attempt to repair their personal relationship and friendship before getting down to business, but they know this process is going to be a slow one.
