The Philadelphia Eagles are reportedly expected to name Chiefs offensive coordinator Doug Pederson as their next head coach. The Eagles have yet to officially announce Pederson as their head coach, but reports have surfaced the Eagles next head coach wants Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo in Philadelphia.

The Giants are reportedly expected to keep Spagnuolo in 2016 under head coach Ben McAdoo, and the Giants may not even let the Eagles talk to him, according to Giants reporter Ralph Vacchiano. While the Eagles are unlikely to acquire the Giants defensive coordinator, they may be able to get their top choice at offensive coordinator in a former teammate of Pederson's, Frank Reich, according to Eagles reporter Marcus Hayes. The Chargers offensive coordinator was fired following a disappointing season in San Diego and look to be Pederson's top choice in Philadelphia.

The Eagles are going back to the Andy Reid coaching tree in Pederson, but they could choose to keep offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur on their staff next season, according to Hayes. Shurmur has had a strong role with quarterback Sam Bradford and could be a major influence in whether he returns in 2016. Pederson served as a the Eagles quarterbacks coach under Andy Reid, and the Eagles front office is clearly looking for a different approach following the Chip Kelly era in Philadelphia.
