"American Idol" is two weeks into its "Farewell Season," but there is a bit of good news for fans who loved the early seasons of the show. During Fox's Television Critics Association winter press tour on Friday, series Executive Producer Trish Kinane said that it was quite likely there would be a couple of cameo's in the last season, including Simon Cowell and Brian Dunkleman, according to TheWrap.

"I appreciate Simon's part in the history of the show," Kinane said. "He's an important part. There are huge conflicts with 'Britain's Got Talent,' 'The X Factor' and 'America's Got Talent.' The most we can expect is for Simon to be at the finale."

The final nostalgic season might also see an appearance from Ryan Seacrest's much forgotten about co-host Brian Dunkleman. Dunkleman was a co-host along with Seacrest during Season 1 of "American Idol" but was dropped when producers decided that they wanted a single host, Billboard reported.

Another exciting tidbit from "American Idol's" TCA was the announcement that the original Idol, Kelly Clarkson, would be returning to the final season.

"We've invited her to be part of this season and she's really happy to be," Kinane revealed, according to E! News. "She will be a guest judge on our first live top 10 show and she'll also perform."

The farewell season of "American Idol" airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8/7c on FOX.
