Actor John Krasinski made an appearance on NBC's "The Ellen Degeneres" show on an episode that aired on Friday to promote his new film, "13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi," The Huffington Post reported. During his interview, Krasinski told show host Degeneres about the time that his wife, actress Emily Blunt, had a close encounter with a shark during their honeymoon.

"Emily never wanted to learn scuba diving and I was like 'We'll never get into trouble with sharks,'" Krasinski told Degeneres. "All of a sudden one broke off from the circle and started swimming behind us. I saw it and Emily didn't. He started to charge Emily, so my decision was 'If I spook her and she moves a lot, he might bite her.' So instead I just let it ride."

The former "The Office" star went on to explain that the shark got close to Blunt as it passed her. When she saw it swim by, she passed out underwater and he recalled seeing air bubbles come out of her mouth.

"It was awesome," he said, "it was great."

After Blunt's scary close call with a shark, Krasinski said that a sea turtle floated by and put its fin around his wife and patted her on the head, as footage from their scuba excursion played out on the screen behind him.

"It's like he knew she had a bad day and was like, 'Sorry about my buddy Terry, he gets real close on the flybys,'" Krasinski joked.

He also went on to talk about the couple's daughter Hazel, who is almost 2 years old, what it was like sitting next to Leonardo DiCaprio at the Golden Globes, and his Men's Health magazine cover story.
