Charlie Rose has revealed that he has met with Sean Penn about a possible sit-down, one-on-one interview about the actor's experience interviewing drug kingpin Joaquin Guzman, also known as "El Chapo."

Speaking in front of reporters during the CBS news panel at the Television Critics Association in Pasadena, Calif. Tuesday morning, Rose said that he met with Penn on Monday after seeing that his long-time friend had "been in the news."

"I have a thousand questions for Sean. When it will happen will depend on when we can agree on the date to do it," Rose said, according to The Los Angeles Times.

The co-host of "CBS This Morning" added that he hopes the interview will take place "sooner than later" and that he will be prepared for it once he gets the approval from Penn and his lawyers.

When pressed for more details about his meet-up with Penn on Monday, Rose remained tight-lipped. "I don't think he'll be doing any other interviews until we sit down," he said, according to Variety.

Mexican authorities were able to recapture "El Chapo" following a tip from an anonymous source, and an interview with the notorious kingpin conducted by Penn was published by Rolling Stone a day after Mexico President Enrique Peña announced his arrest.

Penn, however, has expressed zero regrets regarding his underground visit to interview the Mexican drug lord and simply stated in an email sent to the Associated Press that he has "nothing to hide."
