Meet the lady behind Kate Middleton's stylish wardrobe. According to Grazia, Middleton is being advised to change up her signature chic wardrobe for some more daring patterns and colors.

The woman behind the Duchess' changing style is said to be her longtime friend Emilia Jardine-Paterson. Jardine-Paterson has a lot of connections to Middleton and Prince William. According to the British newspaper, she has been best friends with the Duchess since they were 13-years-old, she introduced Middleton to Prince William at the University when they 17-years-old, she's helping the couple decorate their new apartment at the Kensington Palace and she has been secretly giving Middleton fashion advice for the last couple months.

Jardine-Paterson was also named as one of Prince George's godparents (there's seven total). A source told the newspaper that Jardine-Patterson is credited with helping the royal mother pick her outfits including the Alexander McQueen jacket and skirt she wore to the christening.

"Kate admires Emilia's style," a source said. "Emilia has become increasingly important to her and Kate always uses her as a sounding board. Emilia is trying to move Kate away from the Middleton neutral palate and push her towards color or pattern."

"Emilia loves vintage and tries to get Kate to be a bit more quirky," the source continued. "When they were at school she used to tease Kate about her prim Jigsaw shirts and hated those fur gilets Kate wore."

The source also said that Emilia talked Middleton into letting her add some color to the new apartment as well.

"Emilia has kept to the same ethos when it advising Kate on interior décor," the source said. "Kate had wanted it all muted beiges and neutrals, but Emilia has encouraged more color."
