Bollywood filmmaker and celebrity show host Karan Johar, who is currently busy with shooting his next movie "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil," has been summoned by Mumbai police in connection with the "All India Backchod" (AIB) case, media reports said Saturday, according to Pinkvilla.

The police asked Johar to come to Mumbai's Tardeo police station to record his statement. "We have summoned Karan Johar, which essentially means he will have to come to the Tardeo police station to give his statement," a Mumbai police officer told The Hindustan Times.

"His statement will be an important part of the charge sheet that is yet to be submitted to the court. We are in touch with his advocate, who is coordinating with us. We will take his statement in a few days," the officer added.

The controversial All India Backchod (AIB) show was held two years back in Mumbai. A police case was registered against Johar and others, including Bollywood stars Arjun Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, for allegedly using obscene and vulgar words during the event, which was attended by several Indian film stars and celebrities, according to DNA India.

Johar's Dharma Production has delivered Bollywood blockbusters like "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai," "Kal Ho Na Ho," "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham," "Dostana," "Agneepath" and "Student Of The Year."
