The Miami Dolphins are making a strong push for Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase as their next head coach, according to NFL Network reporter Rand Getlin. The Dolphins have already made a total overhaul of their front office and have officially made Chris Grier their new general manager.

Gase has clearly become one of the favorite head-coaching candidates this offseason and is persuading every team he visits that he just wants to coach, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. Head coaches and general managers tend to argue over personnel or how a coach runs his system, but what makes Gase so appealing to front offices is that he leaves his ego at the door.

The Bears offensive coordinator is reportedly scheduled to interview with the New York Giants, and plenty of teams around the league have interest in the coveted young coach. Gase has worked with high-profile quarterbacks like Jay Cutler and Peyton Manning, and the Dolphins are likely hoping he can help Ryan Tannehill transform into an elite quarterback.

The Dolphins used a first round pick on Tannehill in the 2012 NFL Draft, but he has struggled to develop in four seasons in the league. Tannehill's touchdown-to-interception ratio actually went down this season, and the Dolphins quarterback had twice as many fumbles as last year.

The Dolphins clearly have more problems than just offense with a 6-10 record, but their roster is filled with talented playmakers on both sides of the ball. The Dolphins are reportedly making a persuasive push for Gase now, as it's unknown how long he will stay on the market.
