January is National Slow Cooker Month, and if you're still not done hosting parties even after holidays, it's a perfect time to use this electric pot to prepare foods for your guests.

Slow cookers or crockpots are a big help to any busy person because you can simply set the ingredients down, leave it and let the pot do its wonders. You'll have yummy comfort food ready for that dinner, and your guests are likely to rave about it, too!

Here are some easy dishes to make with a slow cooker:

Slow Cooker Loaded Potato Soup

Ingredients:

1 bag of frozen hash browns
1 can condensed cream of chicken soup
1 bag of shredded cheddar cheese
1 block of cream cheese
1 small bag of bacon bits
1 box of chicken stock

Procedure: Mix everything together and cook for three hours on high in the slow cooker.

Sweet and Tangy Slow-Cooker BBQ Turkey Thighs

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups of dried cranberries
1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons of cider vinegar
1/4 cup of honey
1/4 cup of ketchup
2 tablespoons of tomato paste
4 teaspoons of paprika
4 teaspoons of ground mustard
1 teaspoon of granulated garlic
1 teaspoon of onion powder
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
4 turkey thighs
Mini potato buns, for serving

Procedure: Do the cranberries sauce first by heating it up with vinegar in a microwave bowl. Then use a blender to combine well, add the honey, ketchup, tomato paste, paprika, mustard, garlic, onion powder and salt. Use 3/4 cup of this to pour on the turkey inside the slow cooker, but keep the rest in the fridge.

Remove the turkey's skin and season with salt and pepper. Put everything in the slow cooker and let it cook for four hours. When done, transfer the turkey in a plate and shred it. You can now make your sandwiches with it with potato buns. Use the remaining sauce to add more flavor.

Slow Cooker Honey Mustard Chicken

Ingredients:

1.5 pounds of boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1/4 cup of chicken broth
2 teaspoons of dried thyme
2 teaspoons of onion powder
2 garlic cloves, chopped
2 tablespoons of whole grain mustard
2 tablespoons of honey mustard
pepper to taste

Procedure: Put all ingredients in and combine it. Cover cook for five to six hours on low setting. When done, remove the chicken and shred using a fork, then just put the shredded pieces back before serving. Shredding it after cooking seals the juices of the chicken in so that it isn't dry when you're about it eat it.

Slow-Cooker Easy Chocolate Pudding Cake

Ingredients:

Any chocolate cake mix
Whip cream

Procedure: Prepare the cake mix per package instructions, then pour in the crock pot. Don't stir anymore and just let it cook on high for an hour-and-a-half. Serve with whipped cream.
